Please see each product for further information about what lenses are available specific to the item.

Customize Your Glasses: Choose any additional features or lens add-ons you desire (coatings, tints, etc).
Enter Prescription Details: After you press ‘Add to Cart’, a window will appear for you to input your prescription information for that pair. You can also email us a copy of your prescription. Please ensure your prescription is available on the pair you have chosen before proceeding to payment.

Your prescription should include the following details:
Sphere (SPH): Indicates the lens power for longsightedness (hyperopia) or shortsightedness (myopia)
Cylinder (CYL) and Axis: If you have astigmatism, these values correct the irregular shape of your cornea.
Add: If you need bifocal or progressive lenses, this indicates the additional power for reading.
PDs (pupil distance): This is a measurement of the distance between your pupils. We require this measurement to order any prescription glasses, so please ensure your Optometrist/ Ophthalmologist has included this on your prescription. Alternatively, see our how-to guide on measuring your own PD (in question below).
If you have any questions about your prescription, consult with your local Optometrist or you can reach out to our team prior to ordering.
-
Pupillary distance is the measurement between your pupils, measured in millimetres.
There are a few ways you can measure this:
An optometry clinic can measure this for you
By yourself by looking in a mirror: measure from the outside edge of one pupil to the inside edge of the pupil in the opposite eye.
A friend can measure for you using a ruler up on your forehead: measure from the outside edge of one pupil to the inside edge of the pupil in the opposite eye.
Take a photo with the ruler on your forehead and email it to us, and we can calculate it for you.

Currently, we are unable to process health insurance claims directly. However, we are a registered provider, which means you can submit a claim to your health insurance for reimbursement once you have received your receipt from us. We recommend checking with your insurance company to understand your coverage and how to file a claim. Most health funds with Optical Extras should provide cover towards your order if they are prescription.
-
If you need to modify your order, please reach out to us as soon as possible via email. Most prescription safety glasses orders are processed within 24 hours, so contacting us after production has begun may result in an additional fee for remaking the lenses, as they are custom made. Addressing any errors early is always preferable, as it allows for easier corrections.
-
No, we are unable to create glasses using a contact lens prescription. Contact prescriptions are specific to contact lenses, and you will require an up-to-date glasses prescription from your Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
-
Each product page includes frame measurement details for the selected frame.
We suggest ordering by either selecting a model you have previously worn and that fits well, or using the dimensions of your existing glasses as a reference.
To find the size of your current glasses (they can be either safety glasses or regular ones), check the markings on the inside of the temple, the part that rests over your ear. The numbers typically appear as something like ‘50-20', which indicate the lens diameter (50) and nasal bridge width (20). You can compare these measurements to those of the frames available to find a suitable match.
-
We understand that finding glasses that fit can be a bit of a challenge when needing larger sizes.
Fortunately, we have a few options available to recommend:
Safety glasses:
Ugly Fish Cyclone
Ugly Fish Harpoon
Ugly Fish Glock
Bolle Klassee
Bolle Kurt
Bolle Xtra

Our safety glasses are crafted from polycarbonate, Trilogy, Trivex, or Phoenix materials. These high-impact plastics are designed to withstand ballistic testing and provide excellent impact resistance.
For non-prescription safety glasses, we use polycarbonate lenses, which offer the same bulletproof protection as our prescription safety glasses.
Please note that we cannot use glass lenses for prescription safety glasses, despite their scratch resistance. Glass lenses are not safe against high-speed projectiles or repeated impacts, even with chemical hardening.
-
All certified prescription safety glasses come with a certificate or card, a stamp on the frame and etching on the lenses.

Yes! You can order both tinted and polarized prescription safety glasses in single vision, bifocal, or progressive/multifocal lens types. All sunglasses offer 100% UV protection, and polarized lenses can provide several advantages over standard tinted lenses. They effectively eliminate reflected glare, making it easier to see through water and handle highly reflective surfaces like snow, sand, and water.
You can also order photochromatic (or transitions) with single vision and progressive lenses, and some bifocal lenses.
Transition or photochromic lenses have the ability to change colour in response to UV light exposure. When you are outside in the sun, these lenses darken like sunglasses. When you move indoors or away from UV light, they return to their clear state. These lenses provide 100% UV protection at all times, whether they are dark or clear. However, it’s important to note that they may not darken significantly inside a car, as most cars have a UV shield in the windscreen.
-
Unfortunately not. We are unable to purchase frames individually from our suppliers, as they only certify complete products. This is due to the stringent safety standards that require the lenses to be fitted at the time of purchase to be tested at the same time.
Therefore, we can only provide complete prescription safety glasses, including both the frame and lenses. While we can acquire accessories like nose pads and gaskets, we cannot order the temples/arms of the frames (unless they are detachable, like the Matador Mojo) or the frame alone.
If you have an accident with your safety glasses with in the first 12 months, we can send them back to the supplier for assessment to see if they can be replaced (replacement is not guaranteed for misuse).
-
For our swimming and sports goggles, we may be able to replace the lenses in your existing pair provided they were ordered through us originally.
For sports glasses, many orders can have the lenses replaced whether purchased from us or elsewhere. Please contact our team to see if your current frame is suitable for replacement prescription lenses.
For safety glasses, we are unable to replace just the lenses in your own frame, unless your frame includes an internal prescription insert. This is due to the stringent safety standards that require the lenses to be fitted at the time of purchase to be tested at the same time. Therefore, we can only provide complete prescription safety glasses, including both the frame and lenses.

To ensure the longevity of your glasses:
Clean lenses with a microfiber cloth and lens cleaner.
Avoid using abrasive materials or household cleaners.
Store your glasses in a case when not in use to prevent damage.
